We have been supporting work in Uganda for over 20 years. Most recently our focus has been in Masaka (a 3hr drive S W of Kampala), working alongside the Nyendo Full Gospel Church. The Church is led by Pastor Immanuel Kalibbala with whom we have built a strong relationship, along with his wife Erioth and children. We have also built strong links with another pastor, Fred Ntabagana, his wife Irene and children from Kirinda. Fred is responsible for one of Compassion International’s Child Development Centres in Uganda.
Teams have worked in both the local church and wider community, teaching and preaching, supporting children’s work, constructing a well-head and helping construct a new home for one of the church leaders who was living with his family in very cramped conditions. Members of SCF also provide school and college fees for some of the church’s young people.
TEACHING & TRAINING
In recent years we have also been involved in teaching and training church members and church leaders. We pay for one of the weeks of School of Ministry national training in May each year and send two teachers to deliver the teaching material. Every two years we also teach at two regional conferences for the national church network of which Immanuel is deputy President.
