National Modern Slavery Help Line (https://www.modernslaveryhelpline.org)

The helpline can be called to get help, report a suspicion or seek advice. It can also be accessed online.

 From Oct to Dec 2019 there were 1854 into the helpline, 624 online reports and 40 app submissions.  They identified 1403 potential victims of modern slavery.

 

National Referral Mechanism (NRM)

This is a government framework for identifying and  referring potential victims of modern slavery. There are first responder organisations that are authorised to refer a potential victim into the NRM (i.e. Police, Council, Salvation Army). 

 

Clewer Initiative (https://www.theclewerinitiative.org/)

The Clewer initiative enables the Church of England dioceses and wider church networks to raise awareness of modern slavery. They have created the safe car wash app (https://www.theclewerinitiative.org/safecarwash) which people are encouraged to use when they wash their cars.

Together Free (https://www.togetherfree.org.uk/)

Together free is a Baptist Based Network working with local communities and churches.

 

Southend Against Modern Slavery Partnership (https://www.samspartnership.org.uk/)

SAMS is a community partnership working within the borough of Southend. It consist of local charities, faith organisation, Statutory Authorities and voluntary sector. It offers training and advice.
